This is a review for Jennifer Paschen - Principal Acupuncturist at IHR.

I started fertility acupuncture with Jennifer about a week and a half before my frozen embryo transfer and she was with me on transfer day for pre- and post- transfer acupuncture support. Having her there was brilliant - during Covid partners weren't allowed to accompany patients, so having her friendly face in the room with me before and after the transfer was so comforting, keeping me calm and laughing. Pre-transfer she calmed my heart rate right down - I was amazed it dropped from 138 to 86 after my session with her! Jennifer really takes time to understand you as a person, what's going on with you and then tailors your therapy accordingly. During my sessions we've focused on so many areas - hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's diagnosis, trouble sleeping, constipation, conception and uterine receptivity and now I'm ecstatic to say - early pregnancy! I firmly believe that the combination of Dr Cohen and team doing the Western (review for this to come) and Jennifer helping me with my anxiety, centering and balancing, has been the reason for our first positive result after 6 years of diagnosed infertility (we came to IHR in June 2020).

We also began incorporating reiki into our sessions and I have to say that's become my favourite part. I was a little unsure when we did our first reiki as I wasn't really familiar with it, but it felt incredible and I have noticed the difference in my energy, anxiety levels (considerable reduced) and my overall well-being. If you're considering acupuncture and don't know too much about it (like me), book the intro session with Jennifer - it was a great run through of Eastern medicine, creation of a tailored plan for you no matter where you are in the process and some acupuncture treatment at the end. She's also able to do on-site at IHR on Tuesday and Thursdays which is super convenient for me. Can't recommend Jennifer enough - she's not just my acupuncturist anymore, she's my happy sanctuary and my fertility friend who's been with me every step of the way.
