Dr. David Cohen

Dr. David Cohen is the Co-Medical Director of the Institute for Human Reproduction in Chicago since 2014. Dr. Cohen was the former Professor and Chief of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) Division at the University of Chicago.

As a board certified specialist in REI and in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he has successfully treated infertile couples suffering from ovulation disorders, PCOS syndrome, blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and male factor infertility, as well as women who are in need of fertility preservation. He has treated infertile couples from around the world, as well as those requiring IVF with Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) in order conceive healthy children without genetic disorders. Dr. Cohen is committed to accepting challenging patients at IHR who require a therapeutic strategy that may differ from standard protocols.

Dr. Cohen graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, with a BS in Neurobiology, and then received his MD from New York Medical College. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of NY in Syracuse, and a Fellowship in REI at the Medical College of Georgia. He was then awarded entry into the Reproductive Scientist Development Program of the NIH and completed a research fellowship at Cornell Medical Center in NY in Molecular Medicine.

Dr. Cohen is a member of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinologists and Infertility (SREI), the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART), the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). In 2002-03 he served as President of the Chicago Association of Reproductive Endocrinologists.
